Treating Melanoma in Situ During a Pandemic with Telemedicine and a Combination of Imiquimod, 5-Fluorouracil, and Tretinoin

The recent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has created a quandary for the physician in terms of evaluating and treating cutaneous skin cancers, particularly melanomas. At onset pandemic, many planned medical surgical visits cancers were postponed. Physicians patients have had to balance risk exposure severe acute respiratory syndrome 2 (SARS-CoV-2) with that worsening morbidity mortality due delays cancer treatments. We present male patient who two melanoma-in-situs (MISs) treated during COVID-19 combination topical imiquimod 5% cream, 5-fluorouracil 2% solution, tretinoin 0.1% cream. successful treatments occurred without in-person aid telemedicine. Although surgery is standard treatment melanoma situ, this case demonstrates an effective viable modality MIS situation.
